ERICA BULL
Founder/President
Adjunct Instructor
Erica’s passion for alternative education grew while she began looking for schools for her own children. Realizing that options in Summit County were extremely limited, she started her mission to reimagine what education and learning could look like. Erica left her successful wedding planning career behind, and she embarked on the three year journey that brings us to today. There are two main pillars of passion for Erica, Academics and Adventure, which have turned into the TREK Adventure Club.
TREK Adventure Club has year-round programming that has been developed to focus on Learning while having fun and Adventure aiming to give children individualized learning through nurtured intrinsic opportunities and outdoor, hands-on learning experiences. Erica is working to build a tight-knit community within this organization as well as a supportive and collaborative learning environment for children and their families here in Summit County, and beyond. Erica’s philosophy stems from the idea that by creating a collaborative learning environment that fosters passion, discernment, the opportunity to fail, children will learn real-life skills that will equip them for what a successful future holds. Erica has her Adjunct Instructor credentials in the state of Colorado.
Outside of this newest endeavor, Erica spends her time creating her own family adventures with her husband and 2 children. They enjoy time outdoors, camping, exploring trails in their RZR/dirt bikes, or just getting outside to hike. If you can’t find Erica outside, you’ll find her inside with her nose in a book, or on a yoga mat. She looks forward to serving this community, and all the children that come into TREK’s programs!

LYNDA SCHROER
Lynda is ‘almost’ a Colorado native, and relocated to Summit County full-time in 2021 after concluding a professional career in Corporate Real Estate, Planning and Design. Lynda’s ability to build strong relationships and effectively lead teams is at the core of her success. Her extensive corporate and entrepreneurial experience lends a unique insight, allowing her to inform business strategies while meeting financial obligations.
As the wife of a career first responder, and ‘working-mother’ of two grown sons, she understands and appreciates the need for community programs that support families with diverse needs, schedules, values, and high educational standards through alternative learning methods.
CINDY MEINDERS
Cindy desires to see health and wholesome options for the children of Summit County. Her family has always been important to her and her husband as a mother of 3 and a grandmother of 2 and growing. Professionally, Cindy became a Pharmacist due to the value she placed on biology, physiology, and anatomy and wants to see other children learn to love science, including Botany, her new special interest. In addition to her career as a Pharmacist, Cindy taught 9th grade science for a Co-Op and homeschooled for over 6 years.
She provides guidance and perspective on TREK’s enrichment programs based on her experience of a homeschooling mom and her experience with teaching in alternative education models. Cindy can’t wait to share more about Botany within our programs, with an emphasis on the Rocky Mountain region, and how our local plants can be used medicinally.
MELISSA JOHNSON
Melissa’s priorities are set high for education as well as social and community involvement. She believes it is essential for families in our community to have programs that not only build our youth’s knowledge and create enthusiasm for the outdoor adventures, but also share the wide range of career paths there actually are. Raising a young family, Melissa was yearning for more for her children as they approached the age of entering school, and can relate to other parents needs while raising little ones here in Summit County.
Melissa has spent her professional career in creative and artistic jobs, including professional Baking and Cake Decorating and Interior Design and knows the value of exposing children to other professional paths, in addition to College, and how successful a career in a trade can be. She and her husband also own and run a couple small businesses, so Melissa brings experience in small business startups and creative problem solving to TREK as we begin to develop and serve our community with programs that fill a need for those living, working and raising their families in Summit County.
